Who, me?

shape shifting Since 1989

Hi there, I’m Lizzi. I recently moved to New Orleans by way of Mexico City and while I love beignets, I mostly love peanut butter M+M’s. I have dreams of owning a 12-person dining table and I really, truly love drawing shapes.

As humans, I’m fascinated by the way that we find and create patterns out of everything we do. With practice, we find notes that sound good together, flavors that combine to make us drool, and after some tough times, which alcohols not to mix. The truth is, I never know what I’m going to draw before it happens, I sit down to untangle the patterns going on in my brain, and what comes out is what you get.

THERE WAS A LONG TIME WHEN I WANTED MY ART TO MEAN SOMETHING REALLY PROFOUND AND PRESENT SOME SORT OF SOLUTION.

Going to design school taught me that everything should have a reason — why are you putting that door there? how will people feel in this space? what is the benefit of adding that material to the palette? But a good friend summed it all up perfectly for me; “Lizzi, life is challenging — if you can create moments of joy for people, that’s all that matters.” Alas, here we go.
